Questions may not contain links
Tumblr
Please give us our links back!
Punishing ALL of your users because of 1 or 2 abusers is NOT a reasonable solution!!! Not being able to post links to ask made it very difficult to help the people that had been phished!

GFI LABS Blog: Thousands of Tumblr Logins Stolen in Phishing Attack (via antiphishingontumblr)
The important lesson for everyone to take home from this, is that these things exist. Losing your tumblr for a few days is a lot easier to recover from than having your bank account phished, or your paypal account, et al.
Myspace over-reacted to this minor issue. Let’s all ask Tumblr to learn from myspace’s mistake, and recognize this as the opportunity to avoid ever worse mistakes that everyone needed.
Remember that getting phished once is usually enough to sensitize everyone to the problem, avoid it happening again.

When one of my posts was reblogged, I noticed that it was arbitrarily cut off…
When I reblogged a post it was cut off from the point I wanted to emphasize.
We don’t have to let some code dictate what part of the post we re-blog. The edit html button works, use that to paste in as much of the post as needed.
Getting the reblogged post to show up on the tracked threads, is a whole nother kettle of caviar,my reblog didn’t show up for any of the tags I gave it.
And I was trying to make a whole nuther point frum wat the original poster had made…
Specifically the need to avoid hysterics over a single individual, and avoid pushing the tumblr coders into making the site un-cool in their attempts to code stuff out.
Remember myspace circa 2004? used to be really cool!
Myspace coders destroyed the site, by declaring war on everyone’s personal sites, and making it impossible to link to our own pages!
And when they murdered the groups, that was like banging home the final coffin nail.
Nobody wants that to happen here. k?

At the moment there is no official comment from Tumblr on the epidemic that seems to be sweeping through their system.
when I tried to post this first time round, I got a very nice screen saying that I needed to reset my password as Tumblr detected suspicious behaviour on my account! Way to go Tumblr! Either that is a very poorly worded attempt to get everyone to reset their passwords, or, they did not like certain words in this post!
I got the same demand to change my password when I tried to add to this post. WTF? We’re trying to help, and tumblr makes it hard to share the experience of searching through what this one individual is doing?
Please everybody! Let’s not get caught up in hysteria over this one person. Let’s stop him, and then move on!
Let’s not complain to the point where Tumblr destroys the functionality of this site like myspace did, ok?
AND…
Tumblr… Please don’t use this single individual as an excuse to crack down and drive everybody out… ok?

I checked a new follower, profile was blank and redirected to tumblr iq .com
I checked google’s cache
These are real people, who were scammed.
Let’s give them a break.
As long as we aren’t filling in the blanks, we’re not being injured… If we can help them get their blog back, that’s even better.
I did figure out how to write to people with the phished profiles…
Google them, check google’s cache…
Get to their ask pages by adding ask to the url that you are searching. write them a note, offer to help.

<META HTTP-EQUIV=”Refresh” Content = “0; URL=http://tinyurl.com/6f82cpt”>
<meta http-equiv=”x-dns-prefetch-control” content=”off”/>
The code (on your page) that is causing all the trouble.
Let’s pray that tumblr doesn’t over-react like myspace did over this.

I did changed my custom html, on themes, So now what I have to do, I changed my password too. I have to delete and clear all my posts too?? :(
Click customize appearance, click theme, there should be a button at the bottom.
Then change your theme. The hacker got into your theme and added a meta tag that forwards your page.
He may have also deleted your entire theme.
you could just try restoring your theme…

Don’t delete your posts, they aren’t the problem.
I just checked your blog… it’s fixed. congrats!
